The Temiskaming Foundation

at Work 

From the beginning The Temiskaming Foundation was designed to strengthen the community through strategic grantmaking.

Five core areas are designated priorities:
• social services,
• arts and culture,
• education,
• medical services,
• physical fitness and amateur sports.

Most of the funds in The Temiskaming Foundation are directed towards a specific field of interest. In order to make more funds available to the broader charitable community the Board of Directors contribute to a Directors’ Fund each year. These funds flow directly out to needy community groups at the discretion of the Board of Directors.

2008

Ryan Dalton, of Haileybury, was the first recipient of the C.C. Farr Civic Award. A graduate of Temiskaming District Secondary School, Ryan went on to Algonquin College in Pembroke in the outdoor adventure program. Ryan’s long-term goal is to own his own establishment to share with others his love of the outdoors and outdoor activities. He spent the summer of 2000 in Atikokan working for the Northern Frontier Boy Scouts of America. Congratulations, Ryan.
