The New Liskeard fair takes on almost a district-wide appeal due to the popularity of two events: the Friday noon-hour school parade and that evening’s Harvest Queen pageant. In terms of participants and the numbers of people lining the streets of New Liskeard, it can safely be said the noontime parade is the largest annual one in our entire district. As for the popularity of the Harvest Queen pageant, the overflowing crowds in attendance at the Horne Granite Club make it, in terms of attendance, the largest annual event on the local arts scene.
There are those two events plus everything else that makes all the fall fairs such popular events.
With a tradition dating back to the early years of the 20th century, the fall fairs are part of our heritage and longtime community events enjoyed by all.
